Cub Scout Committee Meeting

5:30 – 6:00

Attendees: Kennesaw Ward Cub Committee (Brother Bassett, Sister Christensen, Brother Futral, Brother & Sister Penrod) – Acworth Ward Cub Master Melissa Allen missa_Allen@yahoo.com (Thank you for coming!!)

Cub Committee Meeting - Following Pack Meeting, we will hold a 30 minute committee meeting. Things to be discussed: Opening Prayer – Sister Christensen Tour Permit for next week Judge Stedman – Sister Christensen to do. Brother Futral brought up that he would like to do a 3 mile hike the pack and combine this with a conservation project May 21, 2011 9:00am Allatoona Pass. Details to follow. This will also require a tour permit to be generated. We will discuss again in April. Great job on Blue & Gold Banquet and Pack Meeting!!!!! J Reviewed Last Months Action Items – See last months meeting Pack Meeting (Acworth/Kennesaw Pinewood Derby) Assignments for Pinewood Derby Friday, March 25, at 6:30 start time Setup 4:00 Kennesaw Ward (Bro. Sister Penrod and Brother Futral) Decorations Kennesaw Food Families bring a picnic dinner to watch the race with a blanket Kennesaw Ward – Marietta Candy Co. Cookies and Brownies, Water Acworth Ward – Popcorn with sacks Kennesaw Ward flag ceremony Webelos Drivers licence printing 18 Tangi will do Spreadsheet for official score (Brother Bassett) Awards (Placque and spray paint cars) Lowell Assign Tangi / Sister Christensen Ribbon 1 2 3 (four groups of each) Sister Melissa Allen Track assignment Sister Allen Start time 6:30pm Brother Bassett - Program (Work with Acworth Ward) Races will run Wards races first, then combined ward races and then family members. When the ward races occur, we will swap from one ward to the other until all the races have been run for each ward then we will mix up all the boys with all the racers. Family racers will be last to race. Awards will be Rank advancement only due to time constrants Exhibits for Pack Meeting will be the boys cars Awards (Ceremony) Judge Stedman Visit March 18, 2011 at 2:30 Discuss where to meet and time March Scouting for Food (All month, but main drive week of March 13-19.) Flyers, sacks and barrel available for cubs to use… Flyer for food drive working for Shiloh Methodist Church April Pack Meeting (World Conservation Patch as well as Leave No Trace Patch) This will be part of the May Saturday 3 mile hike. We will come up with either cleaning the trail as we go or something different. Conservation Project – Ideas? Other Items…

· Awards – We will only give out Rank Advancements at the Pinewood Derby Pack Meeting, but keep the awards flowing.
Lots to be given (Parents, please check and see if there is anything that you need to update to the Den Leaders regarding awards.) Leaders, please forward an updated list of what everyone has earned. This is what I know about:

o Webelos will be receiving the following: Forester (Logan, Aaron, Andrew), Webelos Award (Logan Already purchased)

o Wolf/Bear Den has earned lots:

· Sister Christensen – Assignments

o Tour Permit for Judge Stedman Trip

o 17 painted hot wheels cars for Pinewood Derby awards

· Brother Penrod – Assignments

o Verify who has keys to the shed out back where the track is kept.

o Flyer for Food for Shiloh Methodist Food Pantry

o Check on planting seedling trees for May 3 mile hike along Allatoona Pass trail.

· Sister Penrod – Assignments for Pinewood Derby Pack Meeting

o Marietta Candy Co. (Order ½ Cookie ½ Brownie sheet (92 items)

o Water with lemon’s for drink w/cubs

o Assign Lowell Walker to build Pinewood Derby car holder award stands

o Drivers Licenses for each boy

· Sister Melissa Allen (Acworth Ward)

o Check on status of Mars Hill track

o Popcorn for race day with sacks

o Provide MC for the event (They will have the overall agenda for the evening…)

o Generate 17 types of labels for trophies

o Provide 1^st 2^nd 3^rd place ribbons for 4 groups of winners (four of each ribbon)

· Brother Bassett – Assignments

o Spreadsheet for running races (Kennesaw Ward 6 boys, Acworth Ward 11 boys, Family races will have to be done at the event.)

o Be available to mark all race finishes at event.
